Player Insights Analyst — Interactive Entertainment

  • Part-time · Remote · 10–15 hours/week
  • We are a stealth startup building multi-agent simulation entertainment.
  • We have tens of thousands of users, scaling fast, with very long session times
  • Our mission is to make life simulation a new entertainment medium.
  • Netflix made entertainment passive consumption. We believe the next medium will be active participation: living inside evolving worlds, influencing what happens, and creating stories no writer planned.
Role
  • You will study how people actually experience pur platform.
  • You will combine session recordings, behavioral data, and product intuition to find where people become curious, confused, bored, attached, or absorbed.
  • Your job is not to produce dashboards. It is to identify the few changes that would most improve the experience.
What you’ll do
  • Watch and analyze player session recordings
  • Study funnels, retention, cohorts, and session patterns
  • Find recurring moments of friction, delight, and abandonment
  • Investigate how people interact with the simulation
  • Separate isolated anecdotes from meaningful behavioral patterns
  • Recommend clear, prioritized product changes
  • Measure whether shipped changes improved behavior
  • Improve our analytics events and instrumentation
  • Share a concise weekly player-insights brief
You may be a fit if you have
  • Curiosity about simulation, AI agents, emergent stories, or virtual worlds
  • Good product, game-design instincts & taste
  • Experience in game analytics, product analytics, player research, or games UX research
  • Strong understanding of retention, engagement, funnels, and behavioral cohorts
  • Experience with PostHog or similar tools
  • Working SQL & MongoDB
  • Experience analyzing session recordings
  • The ability to turn messy evidence into simple decisions
What good work looks like: Daily, you can answer:
  • Where are people losing interest?
  • What do they misunderstand?
  • Which moments create emotional attachment?
  • What behavior predicts that someone will return?
  • What is the single highest-leverage change we should make next?
This begins as a one-week paid trial at 10-15 hours per week. It can become an ongoing role if the work consistently changes product decisions.
